Revealed! SmartRail World’s most read stories of 2016 (Pic courtesy of Crossraill)As the year comes to an end, SmartRail World Editor Luke Upton rummages through the year’s stories to find the ten most popular by page views… from mega projects and political upheavals, to some amazing creativity and the train station kept open for just one passenger we’ve seen it all!

Our top ten is an eclectic mix and from all over the world. What’s your favourite?  Some of my favourite features from 2016 that don’t make the top ten but I really enjoyed include: The latest threat to rail passenger safety… Pokémon GO , the rail executive who has moved from running a network to leading his country and Deutsche Bahn and Hyperloop TT to build 'Innovation Train' by 2018 . So who did make the top ten?

A big thank you to all our readers, contributors, supporters and commercial partners for your support in 2016. We’ve grown, we’ve changed and we’ve gained a lot of new readers! And all the team here are looking forward to sharing more international stories from the world of rail and metro technology in 2017!

Regards and thanks,

Luke, Emily, Eric and all the team at SmartRail World
